Summer 2006 re-opening under new leadership

Our programme has included work on North American Indians and the Beavers have made head-dresses, tunics and some very impressive totem poles, all of which we were able to use in our first investiture ceremony in front of parents and friends.
As we are part of a sea scout group, we introduced the Beavers to water safety when they were able to try on life-jackets, sit in canoes, and practise throwing a rope. We also took them swimming with life-jackets on in our local school pool.
Beavers are too young to stay overnight at camp, but we took them on day trips to two Cub and Scout camps during the year, where they had the opportunity to take part in lots of camping activities to wet their appetite for camping with Cubs and Scouts in the future.
